A friend asked me if being unapologetic in our voice meant we don’t care what other people think. I don’t feel drawn to that statement or believe that’s how I express myself or help others express themselves.
To me, using my voice unapologetically means that I’m confidently standing in my truth and feeling at peace and ease in how I express myself. I take inspired action in that truth and allow myself to be supported in that truth without shame, guilt or fear.
That’s what expressing our voice unapologetically means and where I’m going with my work. It’s more than just writing a story and putting it out for the world to see. It’s exploring all the ways we can express that story in our day-to-day.
We express ourselves in every moment of the day really. We share our voice in emails, conversations, text messages, stories, books, videos, paintings, clothing, our work, love lives and on and on…
I’m really enjoying this shift and this new wave of work.
So – to help you express your voice unapologetically this week, let’s start with a big bold feeling.
To me, it feels peaceful. I feel at ease. I feel supported. I feel safe. And that’s really where I want to live and express my voice from.
Write down all the ways you can be and feel empowered. And then DO and BE those things this week while you express yourself.
On my list this morning was:
- Talk to good, soulful friends
- Be a good listener
- Offer help to someoneThe list helps me stay on track and in alignment with the vibration I want to create and express myself from.
What’s on your empowerment list this week?
PS – If you’re ready to express yourself right now and don’t know where or how to start, join me this Wednesday and Thursday for Pitch Fest. Learn about that here.
