I’ve been speaking at networking events for 15 years now, and it’s always weird! You’re sitting in the audience for a while and then go up front. Sometimes there’s books in the back. But you know everyone around you.

It’s weird. But this event, Collab & Culture, in Peoria Arizona was new to me and fun. It was months after I moved out of being a caregiver and addressed my burnout again. And the trauma of caregiving. I appreciate this sweet, fun group of women leaders.

This was an interesting day. I was leading a four-hour workshop for a private healthcare company in Vancouver the same day my husband was getting a biopsy on this lump on his neck. At that point, we called his lump the “big fat boil” we were hoping was nothing more than a big, fat boil. But it turned out to be a cluster of tumors that would nearly kill him three months later.

Meanwhile, I was up north, in a huge room with 500 healthcare employees. I lead an interactive workshop filled with fun exercises, singing, playing with ice cubes, and even a little dancing.
